The myth of the ‘Selfless Satoshi’

The myth of the ‘Selfless Satoshi’ was created by selfish people.

We see a pervasive myth surrounding Satoshi that portrays him as ‘selfless’ and a mysterious eccentric icon who has abandoned all his personal rights to Bitcoin so others could use it freely any way they want, including changing the nature of Bitcoin to its core yet continuing to claim the original name and title.

This ‘selfless Satoshi’ is a fabrication created by people with self-serving motives and stands in stark contrast to the real Satoshi, who fought tirelessly to protect his creation from corruption.

  • Satoshi created Bitcoin to benefit humanity and establish a system for creating and delivering value based on economic principles.
  • The ‘selfless Satoshi’ myth serves those who want to use Bitcoin for their own enrichment, transforming it from a productive system into a speculative gambling system.
  • Satoshi’s vision emphasized transparency, economic competition, and a fixed protocol to prevent corruption, especially to prevent the kind of corruption caused by the concentration of control within a small group. These are principles that are antithetical to the actions of those who perpetuate the ‘selfless Satoshi’ myth.

The myth of the ‘Selfless Satoshi’ has prevented people from appreciating the real Bitcoin, its nature, power, and potential.

The world should pray for Satoshi’s vindication in his efforts to safeguard his invention in the face of corruption because a Satoshi actively working to preserve the integrity of his creation is far more beneficial to humanity than an idealized ‘selfless Satoshi’ whose imaginary existence serves only as a tool for a small group of people to exploit the rest of the world.
